The Best Crockpot Cranberry Sauce
We are blessed to have such an abundance of cranberries here on the southern Oregon coast. Why buy storebought cranberry sauce when you can make your own? This Cranberry Sauce recipe is so easy to throw together and make! Spiced it with cinnamon and sweetened with orange juice, don’t forget the zest to kick it up a notch! Simple recipe that takes just minutes of work and only a handful of ingredients! Your house will smell amazing, just an added benefit!
Ingredients
· 2/3 cup sugar
· ½ cup orange juice and zest
· 12 oz fresh cranberries rinsed and picked through
· 1/4 tsp salt
· 1 cinnamon stick
Instructions
1. Add cranberries to a 2 or 3 quart slow cooker.
2. Top with orange juice, zest, sugar, and salt.
3. Add the cinnamon stick. Stir to combine.
4. Cover with lid and cook on high for 3 hours, stirring once each hour.
5. Remove the lid and stir again and continue cooking for 30 minutes or so or until the cranberry sauce is thickened slightly. Remove the cinnamon stick.
6. Serve warm or cover and refrigerate until ready to use. If refrigerated, cranberry sauce marry and thicken more.
Can be made up to 3 days in advance.
